LAURA DAWN JACKSON
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, who passed away while in palliative care at the Beausejour Health Centre on December 21, 2025.
She leaves to mourn her husband Marcel of 30 years; sons, Adam (Karlie) and Nathan Bumbolo; grandchildren, Lucrezia and Vincenzo Bumbolo. Laura also leaves to mourn her mother Valerie Jackson (née LaBelle), sisters, Linda, Danna, Jeannette and brother David, as well as nieces and nephews, Michael and Valerie Jackson, and Josh Harrison. Laura was predeceased by her father, Halley Robert Jackson; nephew Taylor Jackson.
Laura was born on July 23, 1959 in Winnipeg but spent most of her youth living in New Jersey, until her teenage years where she split her time between Arizona and Pennsylvania before returning to Winnipeg, where she would remain until ultimately settling into the Eastman region for retirement.
She appreciated the serenity afforded by living in the country, and always sought a quiet, simple life. She spent a lifetime searching for creative expression, and was not afraid to try new things. From birdhouses and porcelain flowers, to photography, stained glass, and painting, Laura took to all of it with wonder and joy.
The wonderful magic of Christmas morning was always something that she created for her children and family, with fond memories of a cared for home, and the warm glow of tradition that only a mother can make.
Laura had always held a deep and special connection to animals, having had pets all her life. She found tremendous happiness with her dogs in her later years, with whom we hope she has been reunited.
A heartfelt and sincere thank you to the Beausejour Health Centre and staff who showed incredible care and compassion, it made such a difference.
As per Laura’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date.
In honour of Laura’s love of animals, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her memory.
