With sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen Pauline Antonsen, who left us on December 24, 2025 in Brandon, at the age of 86. Helen will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and selflessness.
Born on July 12, 1939 to Frank and Teenie Pastershank, Helen had one brother, Edward (Sylvia), and a sister, Mabel (Nick). She married Edward Antonsen on March 26, 1960 and enjoyed her work life in retail. Helen was blessed with two sons, Dale and Brian (Joan), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There were also many friends and extended family who will miss her warm smile and gentle presence. Helen was predeceased by her beloved “Eddie” in 2022.
Throughout her life, Helen was known for her love of gardening, hockey and bingo. She had the gift of gab and was always eager to lend a helping hand and brighten the lives of those around her. Helen’s legacy of kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
A private funeral service was held at Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Association of Canada – Manitoba Brandon, #209 – 2211 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2V 3M5 in Helen’s honour.
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Dinsdale Personal Care Home for their care and compassionate support of Helen and her family.
Helen will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, we love you.
