JOHN COCHRANE
It is with deep sorrow that we share that John died peacefully on December 22, 2025, at 87 years of age. He completed his journey with dignity and humour.
Born in Coatbridge, Scotland, John immigrated, with his parents, to Canada in 1950.
He will be forever missed by his wife of 60 years, Carol; daughter Janet (Patrick); sons, Ian (Sy) and Glen (Chiharu); his five granddaughters, Brittney, Kaelee, Joanna, Shannon, Sally; and six grandsons, Mackenzie, Declan, Rory, Jasper, Hanzo and Keegan, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
John was predeceased by his daughter Joanne and his brother Bill, both in 2025, his parents, John and Helen, and his lifelong friend Duncan, with whom he shared a love of jazz.
Throughout his life, John was employed in the media, which was his passion.
The family thanks the staff of 5AB Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, and Sofia for their care and kindness.
If friends or family so wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Actionmarguerite Foundation, 185 Despins St., Winnipeg.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal service.
