Elizabeth (Liz) Mary Dixon, age 84, passed away suddenly on December 25, 2025 - a day of celebration for most, but for our family, a time of sorrow and remembrance.
Liz was our rock and the heart of our family. She devoted her life to loving us, worrying about us, and always putting herself last. Though her life was not always easy, she did everything she could to make it easier for those she loved.
She always looked forward to our annual "girls' trip" with her daughters and granddaughters. These cherished getaways were filled with laughter, shared stories, a little shopping, and the simple happiness of being with the girls she loved more than anything.
She also had a lifelong love of dancing. She often reminisced about her younger years, dancing the nights away at the canteens in Lockport, and that joy for music and dance stayed with her well into her senior years.
If the word "Mother" could describe anyone, it would be our mom. Her selfless love knew no bounds. She never failed to tell us how proud she was of us, and we hope she knew just how proud she made us.
We take comfort in imagining her at peace, reunited and celebrating with family and friends, and with her true love. We can still see her smile - such a beautiful smile.
She leaves behind her daughters, Lori Davenport (Stewart Davenport), Michelle Dixon (Riel Eastman), and her granddaughters, Madison, Taylor, and Marissa.
In keeping with our mother's wishes, a private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
In memory of Liz, donations can be made to: Mennonite Seniors Housing Network (Bethel Place).
