It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Lorne Aiden Robert Kearns, after a brief battle with cancer. Lorne passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. He leaves behind his cherished children, grandchildren, and many dear friends.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Lorne began his career with Canadian National Railway at 17 and later earned a business degree from St. George Williams University. He married in 1963 and raised two daughters, eventually settling in Winnipeg while maintaining close ties to family and friends in Montreal and Toronto.
Lorne was devoted to community service, volunteering with his parish and serving as a commissioner on the Baldwin Cartier School Board in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Later, he found joy at CJNU radio, where his love of music and warm voice shone.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
Charitable donations to Main Street Project or to CJNU (Nostalgia Broadcasting Cooperative) in Lorne’s name are appreciated.
