Vivian was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to Carl and Frances Hoppenreys and grew up in Cadillac, Saskatchewan with two younger brothers, Noel and Lorne.
She is survived by daughters, Robin Round (Henk), Wendy denOuden (Frank), Joanne Ivaniski (Bill), two grandsons, Nicolaas denOuden (Kelsey and great-granddaughter Marlo), Samuel denOuden (Kyla), brother Noel (Cathy) and sister-in-law Lynne.
She graduated from psychiatric nursing in North Battleford, Saskatchewan in 1952. She moved to Winnipeg with her husband and three girls during the great winter blizzard of 1966! She received a hospital management degree and worked at General Hospital Out Patients Department and in 1981 was the Health Sciences Centre admin. assistant. She became the manager "main entry" Dept. HSC Winnipeg until 1994. Vivian loved travelling, photography, her cats and was quite the gourmet cook. She was a great piano player and instilled a love of music in her daughters. She was a crafter, sewer and knitter. Vivian sang with the Sweet Adeline's and worked with Beginning Experience.
She passed peacefully on the evening of November 7, 2025 in Duncan, BC where she had moved three years prior to be close to her eldest daughter Robin.
A private celebration will be held in June with close family.
