Jairus had a gift for connecting with people and making them feel welcome, showing genuine interest in their lives. He never met a stranger and would help others anytime, at any hour, without hesitation. He gathered many friends throughout the years and was always willing to lend a hand or a tool.
Jairus had a successful 37-year career as a real estate agent; he loved his career and the connections he forged with his clients.
Countless weekends were spent out at Grand Beach, where he built his cottage. His love for the lake grew along with his hobbies of ATVing, snowmobiling, and all things building related. He was active in many clubs and associations in both Winnipeg and Grand Beach. Jairus’ latest accomplishment was his Advanced Scuba Certification, and he was working on getting his Divemaster so he could pass his passion on to others.
Meeting as teenagers, Jairus and Jennifer Mohr had two children, Garrett and Kathryn, and raised the children together until their teenage years. Shortly after, Jairus’ partner Patti Fernie and daughter Emma joined the Moss family to create a vibrant household of five. Jairus welcomed the two into the family and was an avid supporter of sports, school, and extracurricular activities for all the kids. Jairus was so proud of all three children and their accomplishments.
Jairus loved and embraced his role as ‘granddad’. Kathryn and Martin with Hazel (2) and Amelia (1m), and Garrett and Megan with Henrik (19m) and another grandchild on the way.
Jairus maintained a very close relationship with his parents, William and Claire Moss, and his siblings Alison, Hilary, and Duncan. Every summer, the whole family would gather at the lake to create lasting memories.
Jairus has left a large void in our hearts, leaving far too soon. Jairus was loved by those who knew him, and we are all left to mourn his passing.
