It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marilyn Clearwater (née Pekrul), on January 15th at Brightwater Senior Living, Tuxedo. Marilyn spent her final days lovingly surrounded by family.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 40 years, Justice Albert (Ab) Clearwater; daughter Kristi Jardine (Calgary); granddaughter Abi Sedran (Calgary); stepchildren, Trevor Clearwater (Selma), Karen Clearwater (Glen), Jennifer Rempel (Jon); grandkids, Katy, Aidan, Camille, Liam, Maeryn, Benjamin, Senna and Adrian, and her brand new great-grandkids, Ava and Zara. Her love story with Ab will live on through all of them. Marilyn also leaves behind her beloved twin sister Margaret Halldorson (Dave) of Chilliwack, and brother Garry Pekrul (Yvonne), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Eva Pekrul.
Marilyn enjoyed a long life full of wonderful memories. She attended Norberry School and Glenlawn Collegiate in St. Vital followed by a career as a legal assistant. She was a member at St. Boniface Golf Club, and enjoyed many years curling at St. Vital Curling Club, making many lasting and special friends along the way.
Marilyn cherished her cottage time with Ab and family at Lake of the Woods, and their winter vacations with long time friends in Palm Desert. Marilyn maintained contact with her childhood friends, religiously attending her almost monthly Girls Club lunches, lake time getaways and splurge vacations.
When not passing her time with Ab, family or friends, including her hours of cooking and baking masterpieces for everyone, Marilyn was a dedicated volunteer with the Christmas Cheer Board.
At Marilyn’s request, there will be no formal service, but the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Marilyn can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

Ab and family My deepest condolences on losing Marilyn. She was such a fun loving, yet pragmatic woman who told great stories, enjoyed life and loved Ab to pieces, despite threatening to remove his little home office bell that he used to call her when his leg was in a cast. She supported Ab through his health issues until her own health problems interfered. And then Ab cared for her with the same care and devotion. We were very sad to hear of Marilyn’s passing. Our deepest condolences to Kristi, Abe and the rest of the family. Our fondest memories of Marilyn would be all those ringette and hockey games that we all faithfully attended. Many great memories. I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I have many fond memories of spending time with her. She was always so stylish and full of fun. I will particularly remember her kindness.
