Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE DANDENAULT
Just short of her 99th birthday, with her family around her, Florence (Flo) Dandenault, passed away peacefully at the De Salaberry District Health Centre on January 17, 2026.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Colette (Roger) Bérard, Paul (Debbie) Dandenault, Jeanne Choo-Yin (Ian Simpson) and Shelley (Raymond) Curé; her grandchildren Katrina (Benji), Milaine (David), Chelsée (Thomas) and Aidan (Angela), Yemaya, Pierre (Crystal), Angela, as well as her great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Andrée, Sacha and Loup. She also leaves to mourn sisters in law, Rita Lavergne and Yvette Shaw as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Flo was predeceased by her husband Roger Dandenault (1999), her parents Fred and Alma Ford, and her siblings: Kathleen Anderson, Margaret Ford, Madeleine Hicks, Fred Ford, and Edward Ford; as well as her in-laws Marie Joyal, Gilbert, Lucien and Normand Dandenault.
While mom was short in stature, she was mighty when it came to loving her family and to caring for others. A nurse for 46 years, Director of Nursing at the hospital in St. Pierre-Jolys for more than half of those years, mom’s commitment to her patients, her staff and the communities she served knew no bounds.
She loved spending time with family, especially the little ones. All the children gravitated toward her, even those who weren’t hers. She was an honorary gramma to many. Her quick wit kept everyone on their toes with smiles on their faces.
In her spare time, you could find her tending to her houseplants in the winter and her many flower beds in the summer. Her nurturing extended beyond greenery; her pets, the injured wild birds and any other furry critters could always count on a snack and a quick chat.
We have so many people to thank: Dr. Chris Burnett, the kind medical/nursing staff at the DeSalaberry Hospital, and her special friend Tanya.
Mom, Gramma, and Gramma 2, you have left a huge hole in all of our hearts but we will carry on, confident you are happy and well in heaven tending to the birds, flowers and the animals who need a little love.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Pierre-Jolys Catholic Church on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Rosary will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by Mass at 2:00 p.m. A short program will follow at the reception following interment. The service will be live streamed at www.afh.ca.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the De Salaberry District Health Centre Foundation.

Flo- what a gem of a woman she was. A very compassionate and knowledgeable nurse. Whenever I saw her in town with either a child or grandchild I HAD to say hi! Her love for and care of animals made her an awesome person in my eyes. She was the last original living on Rat River Drive- what a reunion that must be. I Will miss seeing you around town. Thank you for being the Special You that you were.❤️ - Posted by: Mona Peloquin (Former neighbour on Rat River Drive) on: Jan 25, 2026

Mrs Dandenault was one very fantastic lady. Little lady with a Huge Heart.I had a great deal of respect for Mrs Dandenault her and mom would often go driving around looking for some kind of trouble I think but they denied it of coarse lol . They were by far like best friends. You will be greatly missed Mrs Dandenault. Say hi to Mom in Heaven. You will look beautiful with your New Wings . Our Deepest Condolences to all family and friends and her Fur Babies - Posted by: Martha an Alan Roy (Friends) on: Jan 24, 2026
