Sandra Inez Smith, “Sandi”, her mum’s Easter Bunny, passed away January 8, 2026, at the age of 78.
Sandi was feisty and endlessly funny. She loved telling outrageous stories and could convince almost anyone they were true by adding she had read it in Time magazine. Laughter was never far behind.
Throughout her life, Sandi faced health challenges with grit, resilience, and humor, refusing to let illness define her spirit.
Sandi is survived by her children, Stephanie (Dustin), Spencer (Becky), and Sam (Meg); her grandchildren, Zachary, Rosie, Lola, Malcolm, Amelia, Mia, Silas, Madeline, and Annalou; and her great-granddaughter Mabel, as well as sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, so many family and friends.
There is now a quiet, empty space that no one else can fill. You can finally rest, Sandra. Love always, from the rest of the “Fab Four”, Pat, Geri, and Gail.

So many memories of Sandra’s absolutely incredible sense of humour. From practical jokes to spot-on impressions of people - she was so very funny! That’s only one aspect of this multi-talented and witty, intelligent woman. But I’m grateful that the last time I saw her, we had a fantastic visit with so many laughs.
