FLORENCE BEATRICE CROTEAU

(nee CHEVREFILS)

It is with our hearts filled with love and memories that we announce the peaceful passing of our Aunty Flo, at 83, with family at her side.

Florence was born on June 6, 1942 in Pine Falls, Manitoba and passed away on February 16, 2026 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Now she is reunited with her parents, Alfred and Rosalia, her sisters, Evelyn and Lorraine, her brother Sylva, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. But most importantly, she has gone on to be reunited with the love of her life, Uncle Andy, Andre Croteau.

Flo and Andy lived in Fort Alexander, James Bay and Kenora, Ontario before settling in St. Boniface where they worked at Chez Nous and later l’Accueil Colombien. They loved spending time with the people they loved and travelling the world together.

In addition to being an excellent cook, Aunty enjoyed music, embroidery, going for walks, and playing cards. In the last few years, she lived at Residence Despins, where she loved playing cards with family and friends. Her sweet smile and easy laughter kept her young at heart and she was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Remaining to cherish Florence’s memory are her brother Sylvio (Jeannette), sister Linda, brother in-law Lucien (Bertille) and sister-in-law Pauline (Denis). She will be remembered with love by many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Glen Lawn Funeral Chapel, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Florence’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba at www.Alzheimer.mb.ca.

The family extends their heart-felt gratitude to Residence Despins - your support for Aunty these last few years has given us so much comfort. Nous vous remercions infiniment du fond du coeur.

A special thank you goes out to all the staff and Drs. Ramnauth and Finlayson at Seven Oaks General Hospital, 3rd floor, Unit 2 for their compassionate care.
