Leanne Friesen, aged 64, loving wife of Keith Friesen, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Leanne Bell Friesen was born October 7, 1961, in Souris, Manitoba to Robert “Bob” and Grace Bell (nee Moffat). She was a loving sister to her two brothers, Gord and Don.
Raised in Elgin, Manitoba, Leanne received her education at Elgin School and Hartney High School before completing her Dental Hygiene Diploma in Winnipeg.
Leanne built a lifelong career as a dental hygienist, beginning in Winnipeg in 1980 for a few years then moving to Brandon where she joined WestMan Dental Group for the remainder of her career.
Throughout her life, Leanne enjoyed many interests including golfing, baseball, curling, travelling, music, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
Leanne had a special gift for friendship. She remained connected to the very first people she met and continued building lasting relationships throughout her life with patients, coworkers, and through her love of sports and travel.
Predeceased by her father Bob Bell, brother Gord Bell, nephew Scott Bell, niece-in-law Sherry Bell, and many beloved family members. Leanne is lovingly remembered by her husband Keith, mother Grace, brother Don (Juel), stepson Mitchell (Kaylin), sisters-in-law Donna Bell and Bonnie Buchanan and brother-in-law Ken Friesen. She was a proud Mimi to Owen and Emmett. She will also be deeply missed by nephews Devin, Dana, numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends.
The Celebration of Leanne’s Life was held at the Victoria Inn on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Donations in memory of Leanne may be made to BRHC Foundation, Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3.
