WILLIAM (BILL) LOUNT
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, William (Bill) Lount on February 25, 2026.
Bill’s passion in life was his tremendous love for his family. He never missed an opportunity to express to us how much we were loved and cherished by him, and how proud he was of us.
Bill was a proud business member of the St. James community for over 60 years, carrying on his family’s legacy and forming many lasting friendships through his work and service to the community.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife Lynn of 58 years and children Bill (Debbie), Jodi, Kelly (Mike), and grandchildren Campbell, Sam and Sophie, as well as his brother Bob, who held a special place in his heart.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and many close friends. He loved summers at the family cottage on Lake of the Woods and vacations in Hilton Head Island with close friends Pierre and Wendy. Bill valued his friendships, many lasting since childhood and others formed later in life that became equally special.
Bill was deeply loved and will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts forever.
A private family interment has already taken place.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

I just heard today that Bill has passed away. He has been a wonderful friend since the early 1970’0. I want to send my heartfelt condolences to Lynn and his family. Bill always phoned me on my birthday and whenever I was back in Winnipeg which was every couple years, I would always make a point of stopping by the office to have a visit him. I was going to get in touch with him and tell him that I was going to be in Winnipeg around the 10th of September. We may not have seen each other lots but I’m sure going to miss you my friend. - Posted by: Mel Besser (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2026

Mr Lount was my “Boss” for over 37 years but he was more like a second father to me. When I was young I remember him driving me and his son, Bill (my best friend) in his huge car, I remember how impressed I was by the way he drove that car, it was like an extension of himself. One time at the cottage, a storm had caused huge waves on the lake and Mr Lount had to drive his boat into the marina for protection. Again Bill and I went along for the ride. I was quite scared but he drove that boat as though the massive waves were nothing. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Thank you for everything and I will miss you greatly. - Posted by: Stefan Yetman (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2026
