Joan Elizabeth Pierson, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the age of 94 with her family at her side.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Sandra, Rick (Carolyn), Michael (Pam); her grandchildren, Alicia (Brandon), Heather (Chris), Lauren (Justin), Taylor (Sydney) and five great-grandchildren. Joan is survived by her brother Bill (Dianne) Conroy. Joan was predeceased by her husband Bill, and sister Gerry (Vern) Glass.
Joan was born in Virden, Manitoba and resided in various communities in southwest Manitoba including Neepawa, Boissevain and Portage La Prairie. They finally settled in Brandon where they eventually retired. In their retirement Joan enjoyed curling and volunteering at the Brandon General Hospital. They also enjoyed travelling with a particular affinity for Portugal and Australia.
Joan was known for her sense of humour and enjoying coffee with her many close friends. She had a unique ability to make anyone feel like they were the most important person in the room.
A come and go reception will be held at the George Brockie Fellowship Centre at Brockie Funeral Home, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joan may be made to a charity of choice.
