Rose Laverne Johanson (nee Eames) passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at age 77, after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Selkirk, Manitoba, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and longtime Provincial Government employee.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Billy, Michael (Laura), Richard (Nadia), Dennis (Jessica), and Keri (Garrett); her 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Doug (Linda), Carol (Dale), and Linda; and numerous extended family members and friends, including her beloved cat, Molly.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; her parents, Albert and Kathleen; and several siblings and in-laws.
Laverne will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and sense of humour, and will be deeply missed.
Thank you to the staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Health Sciences Centre, and Alterna Cremation for their care during this difficult time.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
