EDWARD NIECKARZ

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Nieckarz - a strong man with a unique sense of humour and a heart of gold.

Edward was born in Winnipeg and spent his early years growing up on the family farm in Hazelridge, where he developed a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors. As a young man, he was very athletic and enjoyed participating in all sports.

At the age of 20, Ed joined the RCMP, a path that took him to Vancouver Island, BC. Throughout his life, he carried a deep appreciation for music, often playing his guitar and singing country songs with family and friends.

Ed also enjoyed cooking and was known for his generosity - whether it was gifting jars of canned salmon or inviting people over for a delicious homemade perogy dinner. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbours, and his kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Edward was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Jean Nieckarz; his sisters, Rose and Patricia; and his son-in-law, Trevor.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Daniel and wife Julia and Paula; his cherished granddaughters, Tia and Charity, his wife of 30 years, Jean; his sisters, Joyce, Frances, Mary, Angela, and Teresa; his brothers, Thadeus, Joseph, and Victor; and his close companion, Kat.

Although the thought of you no longer being here with us brings deep sadness. Fond memories will live on in all who had the pleasure of knowing you. You will be truly missed.
