Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKIM JACKIE MARIE PATTYN
It is with great sadness we share the sudden passing of Kim, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
Left to mourn is her husband, Richard; her sons, Ashton Kropla (Kasha) and Brady Kropla (Holly); father John (Linda); brothers, Rick and Ronald; sister Janelle (Chris); nephew Roman and niece Beth; stepdaughter Meagan Pattyn; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Lorraine.
Kim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 26, 1968. She graduated from Pierre Radisson Collegiate, completed post-secondary at South Winnipeg Technical Centre, and later earned a Medical Office Assistant Diploma at Robertson College. Kim worked many jobs, making many friends. Her first was at KFC as a teenager, and later at the Paladin Restaurant on Des Meurons, where she found a second family. She also worked for PwC, the WRHA, and most recently Manitoba Health. Her favourite role was being a mom. Ashton and Brady were her light, and she was so proud of the men they became. She cherished time with them taking trips to St. Malo Beach, the family cabin, weekend camping trips, and walking their dogs. Even as adults, she was always eager to help with projects and anything they needed.
Kim was incredibly giving of her time and talents. As Ashton and Brady found their soul mates, Kim was overjoyed to gain “daughters,” loving Kasha and Holly as her own. She was a proud mother-of-the-groom at Brady and Holly’s 2024 wedding. We will feel her absence when Ashton and Kasha marry this July, but find comfort knowing she’ll be watching over us.
In 2022, Kim met Richard, and they quickly fell in love, marrying in summer 2023. Though their time was short, they shared deep love and joy. They enjoyed life in St. Boniface with their cats, Beau and Jimmy, time at their trailer near Roseau River, motorcycle rides, beach trips, live bands, and time with friends. Kim loved her family, always supporting her brothers and parents. She treasured time at the family cabin in La Rochelle with her dad, shared a close relationship with her stepmother Linda and stepsister Janelle, and stayed connected with her Lafantaisie cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Kim made everyone feel special and loved. Whether you met her once or knew her forever, she was an instant friend- always a cheerleader and source of support. We will remember her laugh and million-dollar smile. She loved animals deeply: cats, dogs, squirrels, deer, foxes, and everything in between and wished she could rescue them all.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter in her memory. Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held April 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. Refreshments to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date.
