MARY FIORENTINO

1945 - 2026

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend Mary Fiorentino on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; sister Adele; brother-in-law Bill Fulcher; nephew Jon-Paul; parents Stella and John Paradowski and in-laws Antonio, Giuseppina and Alfonso Fiorentino.

Mary was born in Germany in 1945 and came to Canada in 1956. Mom was a model student at Holy Ghost School, and attended St. John’s High School where she met her best friend Anita. Mary worked at the City of Winnipeg for 37 years and enjoyed singing in the Sokol choir before marrying Joseph to start a family. She cherished motherhood. A devout Catholic, Mary also loved to sing alto in the Holy Ghost Church choir. In retirement she volunteered her time at the Catholic Women’s League for 22 years and had monthly retiree lunches with her City of Winnipeg friends where she always brought a joke to the table. She bowled with friends and in later life enjoyed weekly Leisure club events. Mary loved cooking and her newspapers each morning. She was always caught up in a good mystery novel, and enjoyed the casino with friends.

Mom enjoyed being with people and making them feel special. She never hesitated to give to family, friends, church or a person in need. Mom especially loved being a grandmother to Violet and Joe, and an honorary aunt to Grace, Chloe and Landon. Mary is deeply mourned and remembered by daughter Lisa; son Anthony; son-in-law Eric Lamoureux; grandchildren Violet and Joseph; sister-in-law Connie Scerbo (Richard); nieces Lara Achtelik (Brian) and Aurora and nephew Richard. We would like to thank the Jablonowski and Killen families for their kindness and support throughout the years and deep gratitude to the care Evelyn Smith provided. Finally, we would like to thank the compassionate nurses at the Med Surg ICMS at St. Boniface Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment will take place in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.

Rest in Peace, Mom Wieczny odpoczynek racz jej dac Panie.
