Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Barbara Shoomski passed on March 28, 2026.
Funeral service will be held April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints' Anglican Church, 521 Broadway, Wpg. MB.

Barbara was such a joyful person. My memories of her are mostly at Christmas time, when she always had the biggest smile and I felt very welcome in her home. She was well loved by many people and was often helping others. At a time when most folks still had phone numbers in the phone book, there were only two listings for Shoomski. We often received calls asking for Barbara and we never minded. We just told them, she's the other Shoomski in the book. Barbara was the Chaplain for the Mother's Union in Rupert's Land. Barbara was always so caring and kind. I love how she spoke so highly of her family and God's love. She always took the time to listen and care. Thank you for all the smudges. They meant so much. God now has another angel. I pray that God will provide her family and friends with all the care and compassion she has shown others. My mom and Barb were friends many years ago, with many mornings being spent walking for coffee at A & W. I was able to get to know Barb during this time, as well as during the time I spent as Barb's neighbor.
