PATRICIA (PAT) MAKSYMCHUK
Patricia (Pat) Maksymchuk, aged 71, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on April 15, 2026. Pat was born on July 12, 1954, in Arborg, Manitoba, to Fred and Pauline Zuk.
Pat spent most of her life in Dauphin, Manitoba, where she built a loving home with her husband, William (Bill) Maksymchuk. Together, they raised their two daughters, April and Susan. She was a devoted wife and a dedicated stay-at-home mother for many years, always putting her family first.
Pat had a deep love for being connected to nature. She found joy in being outdoors, especially in her greenhouse and large garden, where she created and maintained beautiful flowers throughout the yard. She also loved crocheting, baking her famous sticky buns, and spending time with friends and family. Her baking was well known in the community, and many looked forward to her homemade goods at the local farmers’ market.
Pat worked at MTS before starting her family, and later at the Ukrainian Festival office, Canadian Tire, and the MLA office in Dauphin. No matter where she worked, she was known for her kindness, reliability, and warm spirit.
Pat was a proud and loving Baba who cherished every moment with her grandchildren. Whether it was watching movies with them, Face Timing, crocheting together, or going out for lunch, these were the moments she treasured most. Her grandchildren, Auriana, Ella, Erika, Sadie, and Bowie, were a constant source of joy in her life.
In her retirement years, Pat continued to spend time in her garden in Dauphin before moving to Winnipeg, where she enjoyed being close to her daughters and grandchildren.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, Bill Maksymchuk; her parents, Fred and Pauline Zuk; and her brother, David Zuk. She leaves to mourn her daughters, April (Jason) and Susan (Mike); her beloved grandchildren, Auriana, Ella, Erika, Sadie, and Bowie; her brother Denis (Lawrie); her brother Bob; her sister-in-law Valerie; and her nieces and nephews.
Pat will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle nature, and the deep love she had for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on May 1 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Charles Roman Catholic Parish.
