It is with heavy hearts the Douglas family announces the peaceful passing of Gayle Douglas, nee Northcliffe, on April 15, 2026 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 67.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years Mark; Gayle's children, Adam and Kyle (Vanessa); and her grandchildren, Skye and Brie. Also left to mourn her passing are her sisters, Cheryl Northcliffe, Glynnis Murdock and Lynda (Roger) Lecoq; her in-laws, Judy (Glen) Ushey, Linda (Sterling) Eastcott, Dave (Shirley) Douglas, Angie Douglas (Doug Parsons) and numerous nieces and nephews. Gayle was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Joyce Northcliffe, stepfather Earl Wells, her daughter Sarah and her in-laws, Lyle and Mary Douglas.
Gayle was employed at Middlechurch Nursing Home for 32 years until her retirement. She enjoyed going to her children's football games, ceramics, bingo and spending time with family, friends and her cats. Gayle called Mark "the apple of my eye" while he responded she was "the sunshine of my life" (from songs by Stevie Wonder).
The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Boniface Hospital.
As per Gayle's wishes, no funeral service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke Fund or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
