It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Dorothy Elsie Brand who peacefully passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday April 22, 2026, after a brief illness.
She leaves to mourn, her loving sons Kenneth and Colin, and her nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Morrice; parents Dot and Harold Young; sister Shirley; and brother-in-law Kit.
She was born in Winnipeg on November 26, 1936, and enjoyed a quiet life in the city with her family and friends. Mom was always there to take care of her husband and boys and made a wonderful life for all of us at her home on Doran Bay.
Dorothy enjoyed bowling, Sweet Adelines barbershop harmony singing and socializing with family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and care to Dorothy.
Per Dorothy's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation will take place followed by a private family interment at a later date.
