BARRY GEORGE STREWCHUK

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Barry G. Strewchuk on April 9, 2026 at the age of 69.

Barry is survived by his daughter Samantha (Daniel) Corbeil, granddaughter Angelina Corbeil, sister-in-law Karen, niece Dawn (Dave) Hoover, nephew Randy, great-niece Dayna Hoover and great-nephew Deklan Hoover.

Barry was predeceased by his parents, Marie and George, and his brother Roger.

Barry was born and raised in Winnipeg. He had a long career as a journeyman electrician, retiring from G. Mallin Electric after 20 years. Barry worked as a foreman on many large projects where he was known for his no-nonsense approach to getting the job done right. Off the work site, Barry was always happy to use his skill to help friends and family with their electrical needs. Barry loved spending summer weekends at his cabin, ice fishing with his brother and nephew, watching Formula 1 and visiting car shows with friends, and playing games of poker with family after Christmas dinner. He had a non-stop sense of humour and an unmatched ability to find a suggestion for everything.

Barry's love for family ran deep, even in the more solitary moments of his later years. He often reminisced about treasured times in his past, sharing the memories close to his heart with his daughter Samantha. His pride and joy was his granddaughter Angie, who never left a visit at Gigi's house without a special treat or a new toy. Nor did his son-in-law Dan leave without another tool gifted from Barry's collection.

Dad, you were always there for me, always asking how you could help, always making sure I was okay. We never talked without saying "I love you". I know the hidden warmth of your spirit and I will miss you so much.

In keeping with Barry's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
