It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Myrna Mitchell on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Brandon, at the age of 91 years.
Myrna was born on July 25, 1934, in Virden and went on to live a wonderful and full life surrounded by family and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edwin Mitchell; her son, Brian Mitchell; her brother Doug Finlay and sister-in-law Pearl Finlay; and her sister Anne Forsyth and brother-in-law Bud Forsyth.
Myrna will be lovingly remembered by her children Karen Mosiuk (Doug Mosiuk), Don Mitchell, and daughter-in-law Tanis Mitchell; her sisters Gail Hickson (predeceased by Ken Hickson) and Linda Chrisp (Bernard Chrisp); her 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Myrna had a deep love for her garden and found great happiness tending to it through the seasons. She was known for warmly opening her home to family and friends for home-cooked dinners, coffee parties, and good conversation around the table. Her kindness, hospitality, and caring spirit created countless treasured memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and family that will be forever remembered.
In keeping with Myrna’s wishes cremation has taken place. A come and go tea will take place in the George Brockie Fellowship Centre, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
