It is with profound sadness that we remember the life of Chef Cameron Huley, 49, of Ste. Anne, Manitoba, who left us on May 3, 2026 - a respected chef, father, community volunteer, mentor, and friend whose impact reached far beyond the kitchen.
Cam was born on September 4, 1976, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Eugene and Diann Huley. He was raised in Anola, which helped solidify his love for the country and the outdoors.
Cameron built a culinary career that spanned more than two decades, beginning at the age of 15 when he entered his first kitchen at Elmhurst Golf and Country Club as a dishwasher. Cam later went on to study culinary arts at Red River College and earned his Red Seal in Niagara Falls. Over the years, Cam became a world-renowned chef, competing internationally in food competitions and proudly representing Team Canada. During his career, he earned recognition for his leadership, mentorship, creativity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence in food service. This was further evident in 2021 when he was appointed Conseiller Culinaire du Canada, a high-ranking officer within the Canadian chapter of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. He was also very proud of his Diploma in Culinary Excellence, awarded by the World Master Chefs Society in 2025.
Cam was also an avid outdoorsman. From foraging for mushrooms and wild foods to hunting his own game, he embraced a deep connection to nature.
He enjoyed camping and fishing and felt most at peace when surrounded by friends around a bonfire after hosting a home-cooked meal. He cherished these adventures, especially those spent with his son and friends.
Cam was most recently known professionally as an executive chef consultant with Food Service Solutions Canada. He combined technical skill with a passion for hospitality and service. Those who worked alongside him remember not only his culinary talent but also his generosity, calm presence, and willingness to support others entering the profession.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Cameron was deeply connected to his community. Cam volunteered with both local fire and police services in the Ste. Anne area, reflecting a lifelong commitment to helping others and serving his community with humility and dedication.
Above all else, Cameron was a devoted father who cherished his son and best friend, Raydyn, and placed family and friends at the center of his life. Cam was loyal, compassionate, and had the ability to make people feel welcome wherever he went.
Cam will be forever missed by his son and best friend Raydyn; his mother, Diann Huley; brother Jason (Irka) Huley; sister Cheryl Le Masurier; nieces, Chantel (Jeremy) Lowen and Stephanie (Mitchell) Bradics; and Raydyn’s mother, Willa Frederick; along with uncles, aunts, cousins, and countless friends and colleagues worldwide.
Cam was predeceased by his father, Eugene, and both sets of his grandparents.
Cam’s passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who knew him, but his legacy lives on through the many people he mentored, the communities he served, and the family and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.
A celebration of Cam’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a sharing of memories beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Squash and Racquet Club, 275 Stradbrook Ave., Winnipeg.
The sharing of memories at 2:00 p.m. will be livestreamed and can be accessed by visiting Cam’s tribute page at seasonsfunerals.com and selecting “Watch Webcast.”
A trust fund has been set up for Raydyn. To contribute, e-transfers can be sent to jasonhuley@gmail.com. Please indicate “Raydyn” in the comments.
