I was so heartbroken to see the sad news of Helen in the Free Press today. I spent several days in Grace Hospital with her and got to know most of her family also (what a lovely family). My family join me in sending our deepest condolences to Laurie, Lorna, Heather and Ted and all the rest of the family. We are thinking of you and sending hugs. - Posted by: Merna Tokar (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2026

Denis & I got to know your Mother being her neighbour here at Kirchhoff Gardens. She became a dear friend to us & a mother figure we both no longer had.. We loved talking with her, walking with her, joking, playing cards and delivering her some meals sometimes. We wished we could have gone up to the hospital to see your Mother before she passed away to tell her how special she became to us. We will miss your Mother Always & Forever! Your family is in our thoughts at this difficult time! Much Love Denis & Sandra Coutu - Posted by: Denis & Sandra Coutu (neighbour & friend) on: Jun 06, 2026

My deepest condolences to Laurie, Lorna, Heather and Ted and all your families. I remember what a lovely home your mom made. Visits there are a treasured memory. I admired your Mom so much when she returned to school and got her nursing degree. That really impressed me as a young girl. I know you will miss her terribly but I hope your memories of her loving kindness and full life bring you comfort. - Posted by: Robin Newton (Niece) on: Jun 06, 2026

we live at the same place as Helen did. She was a wonderful lady. She enjoyed playing cards and having a good laugh. She always had a beautiful smile and a good sense of humor. May she rest in peace. Maurice and Dolores Jolicoeur - Posted by: Maurice and Dolores Jolicoeur (friends) on: Jun 06, 2026

Helen was a very talented and strong woman who truly cared about everyone she came in contact with. She was always available to help others. I first met Helen at the St Boniface Hospital in the 1980’s. We were both nurses and loved our jobs. I will never forget her incredible passion to help her patients. - Posted by: Bea Akkerman (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2026

I am just remembering Helen as a caring mother, who took interest in Lori‘s friends and how they were doing which I was surprised that she would care at all in how I was doing. But she was a nurse and it showed and all she did. My condolence to Lori and your family. Sandy Popham - Posted by: Popham Sandra (Friend of Lori’s from a long time ago) on: Jun 06, 2026
