JAMES (JIM) MELVIN SCOTT
James (Jim) Melvin Scott, 82, formerly of Winnipeg Beach and most recently of Beausejour, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on June 15, 2026.
Born April 12, 1944, in Winnipeg, Jim built a distinguished career as an architect and was known for his intellect, humour, generosity, and love of spirited conversation. His lifelong interest in religion shaped his outlook on life.
Jim studied architecture in Halifax and later lived in Montreal, Calgary, and Winnipeg. He and his wife, Monique, spent early years in Pasadena, California, where he studied Theology. In retirement, he cherished time at his cottage in Winnipeg Beach.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Sara Scott, son in law, Marc Piché, and grandsons, Alexandre and Benjamin. He is survived by his sister, Kay Loeb. Jim was predeceased by his former wife and friend, Monique; his parents, Edmund and Jeanetta; his brothers Lawrence (Onie), Ray (Beth), Ron (Jean), and Kenny; and his brother in law, Walter Loeb. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn, privately.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of East Gate Lodge in Beausejour for their care and kindness during Jim’s final months.
