CECILE CORMIER

(nee LAGACE)

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother was called home on June 8, 2026, at the age of 94, to be reunited with the love of her life Lucien.

Cherishing her memory are son Julien (Cindy, Christien, Charlotte, Emelia, Sébastien), son Marc (Margaret, Faith, Greg), daughter Carole (Marcel, André), brother Phil Lagacé and many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in La Salle, MB, then later moved to St. Vital, Cécile was a woman of faith, who doted on her family, loved music, and led an active life playing baseball, skating, camping, gardening, and travelling. We will treasure our beautiful memories of her forever.

Thank you to the entire care team at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface; it takes a village.

A celebration of Cécile’s life will be held at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 am with reception to follow. A private interment is planned.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Ma tante Cécile to me was both a friend and an aunt. She was truly a friend when I was a teenager. We had great conversations together. She was also an aunt who was able to offer advice and I appreciated it! Her and mon oncle Lucien were so devoted to each other. They truly were soulmates. May they be together again enjoying each other. “Mon ange” - Posted by: Pauline Koziarski (Niece) on: Jul 15, 2026

  • Ma tante Cécile…a woman of faith. Not just any woman of faith. 1 of 2 very important women of faith, in my life. Mom being the other. Ma tante Cécile…a wife in faith. Not just any wife. The wife that inspires me to be the best wife I can be to my husband. With Dad passing when I was only six, her marriage with Mon oncle Lucien would be the one I would look up to. Ma tante Cécile…a mother with faith. Not just any mother. A supportive mother who helped Mom at the worst time in her life. I often stayed at your home…she was so nurturing and loving, a 2nd mother to me. And now we celebrate! Her life here, and her life in heaven. Oooohh Cecelia…Thank you for all you showed me. - Posted by: JoAnne Hogue (Niece) on: Jul 15, 2026

  • Tante Cécile was a wonderful, caring, kind lady. She was my mother's (Thérèse Vouriot) only sister and they had a very special bond. Our families were very close and we offer our deepest condolences to our cousins and their families. I love the picture of her and uncle Lucien in the obituary, I'm sure they are happily reunited and dancing up a storm up in heaven. - Posted by: Colette Carriere (Niece) on: Jul 14, 2026
