It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kerry Martens (nee Kerry Richardson).
Kerry was a loving wife, devoted mother, daughter, sister, and a friend to many. She dedicated 34 years to her profession as a Registered Nurse and cared deeply for her patients.
The family extends their gratitude to the exceptional care provided from the ER and ICMS staff at St. Boniface Hospital.
A public service will be held Friday July 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A private reception to follow.

I am so saddened by the news that Kerry has passed away. Although we had not seen each other in quite some time, I always knew that she was my friend and I was hers. Whenever I spoke with her, the conversation was warm and surrounded by memories created in our growing up years at St. Basil's parish. I remember eating bagged lunches on the steps leading up from the basement to the not-yet-built church and giggling as only young girls can. Her smile was the best and her sense of humor was wonderful. Kerry was a very caring nurse and a humble and compassionate woman. She loved being a mom. I will miss her and feel privileged to have been a friend of such a special soul. My condolences to the whole family on this unimaginable loss. May her memory be eternal.
