Peacefully on July 16, 2026, Joanne passed away at the age of 86 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, adored by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, a life defined by love, kindness, empathy, courage, strength, and endless devotion to her family.
On May 11, 1961, Joanne married the love of her life, William "Bill" Morris. Together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered entirely on love, family, and an unwavering commitment to one another.
Joanne brought warmth and vitality to everything she did. She possessed an infectious laugh that could light up any room and was an incredibly talented pianist, filling her home and the lives of her loved ones with music. She was also deeply committed to her community, selflessly dedicating her time to volunteering for local organizations, schools, libraries, churches, community centres, and charitable causes throughout her life.
When she wasn't helping others, Joanne loved the camaraderie of a good game of Bridge or Cribbage. She cherished the simple joys of life, especially spending her summers at the family cottage in Gimli and embarking on memorable family camping trips. Joanne and Bill also enjoyed wonderful adventures together, including unforgettable trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Great Britain.
Above all, Joanne’s greatest joy was her family. She was a constant, nurturing presence in the lives of her grandchildren, always eager to help babysit and watch them grow.
Joanne is survived by her beloved husband, Bill; her children, Glen (Ashleigh) Morris and Diane (Stephen) Drawbridge; her grandchildren, Pamela (Ryan) Drawbridge, Hilary Drawbridge, and Andrew Morris; and her great-granddaughter, Olivia. She will also be deeply missed by her sister-in-law Helle Wilson, her nephews, Grant Levesque and Raymond Levesque, her niece Linda (Mike) Muller, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins across Canada and the USA. Her spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
The family wishes to express our deep gratitude to Extendicare Tuxedo Villa for their compassionate care, kindness and support of Joanne.
In keeping with Joanne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of her life will be held.
