ELEANOR MOORE-BUNNEY

(nee THIESSEN)


On July 17, 2026 Eleanor Moore-Bunney passed away at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 98.

Eleanor was survived by her children, David (Sue), Carol (Terry), Tom (Les), Mike, Jackie (Bernie); her grandchildren, Brian, Jamie, Daryl, Morgan, Kelly, Elizabeth, Chris, Angel, Josh and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Louise and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband John and grandson Lucas. As well as her parents, Henry and Tina Thiessen and her sisters, Esther, Reta, Anita and brother Bobby.

Eleanor was born in Balgonie, Saskatchewan and in her teen years moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario where she met her husband John. Eleanor spent most of her working life with the Federal Government in Winnipeg. She enjoyed her walks through the English Garden at Assiniboine Park, playing bridge and rummoli with friends. For many years Eleanor enjoyed her summer’s at Dogtooth Lake and her winter’s in Florida.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the medical staff at Deer Lodge Centre and Grace Hospital, Dr. Kean at CancerCare and family physician Dr. Thomas.

In keeping with Eleanor’s request, cremation has already taken place and there will be no formal service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare or to a charity of your choice.
