Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLISA MARIE FLORA BIRD
Despite having MS for almost five decades, Lisa was known for her bright, loving personality and joyful involvement in the lives of her loved ones and community. Now God has welcomed her to her eternal rest.
Lisa loved children. She stayed at home to raise her kids. She also babysat and taught Sunday School. When her own children had grown, she worked at a daycare for as long as her health would allow. Lisa beautifully sang and played piano, winning music awards in her childhood and devoting many years to the Church choir. She loved the Catholic Church from childhood, a love which deepened throughout her life.
Lisa is predeceased by her husband Mark and father Leopold Gareau. She is survived by her mother Mavis; children Joshua, Kennedy (Chantel), Laura Wiebe (Dustin) and Katherine Pilgrim (Trevor); grandchildren Karmyn, Charlie, Mary, Sophia, Evelyn, Brooklyn; sister Janelle; nephews, nieces and many cousins.
The family wishes to thank the kind staff at Fred Douglas Lodge and Teulon's Hunter Memorial Hospital.
A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Church in Stonewall on Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Stonewall Legion.

Ed and I had known Lisa for a very short period. While my husband was in Teulon hospital we got to meet and enjoy Lisa and her lovely sing. She sang like an angel. We send our condolences to the family and may she rest in peace. - Posted by: ed and barb readman (hospital friends) on: Jul 31, 2026

Condolences to you all. Mavis and Janelle I am so sorry for your loss. I was so sad to hear she had passed. To her children: Lisa was a childhood friend and we graduated High school together. We spent lots of time together growing up. I remember when she competed to win the Rose Bowl and won. I was so excited for her and could hardly wait to see her name on the trophy. She had a voice of an angel. I have lots of lovely memories of Lisa. She was a great friend and caring person. She sang Ava Maria at my wedding which was beautiful. I was honoured to be in Lisa and Marks wedding party and watch her start her family. Life became busy with her young family and she sure loved her family. Rest in peace Lisa. Peace be with you all.
