SHARON KATHRYN GIESBRECHT

February 11, 1961 – July 20, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Giesbrecht on July 20, 2026, at the age of 65.

Sharon will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Ken; her son, Joshua; her brother, Gary (Lori); her sister, Joyce (Scott); and her sister-in-law, Audrey (Ray). She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Matthew (Roberta), Ryan (Alyssa), Jarrett, Brendan (Madison), and Ariel, who will hold her memory close to their hearts.

Born on February 11, 1961 in Southern Manitoba, Sharon spent her formative years growing up in Morden. As a young adult, her journey took her north to Norway House and then Thompson, before she eventually settled and made her life and home in Winnipeg.

Sharon was a woman who always thought, helped and prayed for others first. She found joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life and the people she shared them with. A deeply devoted mother, her happiest moments were spent in the hockey rink, proudly watching her son play the game he loved.

Sharon held a special place in her heart for the deep bonds formed over the years, particularly with her cherished "MGAS" family and friends made through Ken’s career. She also treasured her regular phone calls and trading recipes with her sister, Joyce and niece Ariel. Sharon enjoyed her own professional career in banking and accounting. During this time, she formed much cherished friendships with Samantha and the Danylchuk family. Sharon always looked forward to activities with her best friends, such as nail appointments with Elizabeth, workouts with Wynona, and trading humorous unfiltered banter with Wendy, George, Wally and Tom.

Sharon was an exceptional cook who expressed her love through the meals she prepared for family and friends. At home, she had a quiet appreciation for nature, taking great pride in maintaining her beautiful garden and tending to her flowers. She was an avid reader who loved getting lost in a good book, but above all else, her favorite place to be was sitting outside on her deck, enjoying the warm sun and the company of her family.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Winnipeg. Lunch will be served following the service. A private interment will be held in Morden on August 8.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sharon’s memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
