ARCHIE CHABOT
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Archie Chabot on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the age of 61. Archie passed away while riding his beloved motorcycle, doing something that brought him joy and a sense of freedom.
Archie will be forever cherished by his wife, Liz; his children, Nick (Annick), Faye (Steve), and Alex (Kristin); his grandchildren, Ivan, Lilian, and Logan, who brought endless pride and happiness to his life; his mother, Jeanne; his sister, Brenda (Jon); his nephew, Edward; his niece, Amber (Raymond); as well as his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless dear friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Archie Chabot, and his parents-in-law, William and Susan Hiebert.
To know Archie was to know someone who never hesitated to help another. He had an extraordinary heart, a generous spirit, and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Whether you needed a hand with a project, advice on fixing something, or simply someone to share a laugh with, Archie was there. Friends often joked that he would give you the shirt off his back … if he happened to be wearing one. That was simply who he was.
Archie had a remarkable ability to repair almost anything, earning him the affectionate nickname "MacGyver" among those who knew him best. No problem seemed too big, no challenge too difficult. Resourceful, hardworking, and endlessly determined, he always found a way.
A proud member of the Marchand community. Once referred to as the Mayor of Marchand, Archie gave selflessly of his time and talents. He loved the outdoors and felt most at home exploring the wilderness, whether riding his motorcycle, snowmobile, side by side, camping, or sharing adventures with family and lifelong friends. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by the joy he found in bringing people together. His home was always open, his hugs were unforgettable, his laugh contagious, and his sense of humour could brighten even the darkest day.
Although his life was far too short, the legacy Archie leaves behind is immeasurable. He touched the lives of so many through his generosity, compassion, humour, and unwavering willingness to help others. His stories will continue to be shared, his adventures remembered, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming love, support, prayers, kind words, and countless memories that have been shared. Your compassion has brought comfort during this incredibly difficult time and serves as a beautiful reminder of just how many lives Archie touched.
Ride free, Archie. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, August 7, 2026, 1:00 pm, at the Marchand Community Hall in Marchand, Manitoba. Overflow and outdoor video and audio will be available, and it is suggested you bring lawn chairs for the overflow seating area.
