With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Allan Gerald Langhan, aged 76, of St. Malo, Manitoba, who passed away peacefully at Menno Home in Grunthal on September 10, 2026.
Born on July 30, 1950, in St. Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba, Allan was the beloved son of Denise and Emile Langhan.
Allan was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, papère, and friend. A quiet and gentle man with a huge heart, he showed great love, commitment and dedication to those who knew him.
Allan leaves to mourn his loving wife of 31 years, Deborah; his daughter Stacey (Howie) and their children, Cassidy, Madison and Jaxon; his son Jason (Dani) and their son Knox; his stepdaughter Lindsay (Joel) and their children, Emmett and Bennett; and his stepson Cory (Sara) and their children, Audrey and Archie.
He is also survived by his brothers, Paul (Janice), and their children, Jody, Trevor and Jim; and Gerry (Carmelle), and their children, Tania and Roselle.
Allan was predeceased by his brothers, Michel and Marcel Langhan; his sister-in-law, Mary; and his dear friends, Marcel, Luc and JJ, whose friendships meant so much to him.
Allan was raised in St. Pierre-Jolys and later moved to St. Malo, Manitoba, where he raised his daughter Stacey and son Jason.
In July 1995, Allan married the love of his life, Deborah Baldwin (McIlwrick). Together they blended their families and built a life filled with family and lasting memories.
Allan began his career driving truck for Nelson River and later joined the Department of Highways, where he worked for 32 years. He took great pride in his work and truly put his heart and soul into everything he did.
Among Allan’s greatest passions were hunting and fishing. He also treasured the opportunity to travel, including a memorable trip to Costa Rica with special friends Shirley and Greg Janzen, trips to British Columbia, and many camping adventures that created lasting memories.
Following a devastating stroke in December 2017, Allan faced significant physical and mental challenges. Despite these difficulties, he continued to find joy in staying active and doing the things he could. He cut grass with his self-propelled mower, used his snowblower and even had a rigged-up wood splitter. These activities brought him a great deal of happiness and reflected his determination to remain active and independent.
In recent weeks, Allan’s health declined, and he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the care of those who had come to know him well.
The family extends a sincere thank-you to Dr. M. Nasir, Dr. M. Vendramelli, and the dedicated staff at Greendale and Menno Home for the care and compassion they provided. Their kindness, support and commitment will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Allan’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Menno Home in Grunthal.
A service will be held at 10:00 am at Menno Home in Grunthal, Manitoba, on Thursday, September 24, for family and good friends
