TIMOTHY BURLAKOW Peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 1999, surrounded by many family members, Tim passed away at the age of 88. Tim was born in Russia where he lived until The Second World War and the Russian army changed the direction of his life. In Germany, he met Ruth and they married in 1947. Lifes road took another major turn when they immigrated to Canada in 1953. Tim worked hard all his life until he retired at the age of 64. His retirement continued to bring many new adventures including winter trips to Florida and Arizona and an overnight canoe trip to pick blueberries in Ontario at the age of 80. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Ruth, his two children Edith (Brian) Anema and Klaus (Brenda) his five grandchildren Tim (Sandra) Madder, Debbie (Richard) Penner, Chris (Yvonne) Madder, Kara and Stefan; as well as two great grandchildren Josh and Riley. Special thanks to all the staff of the fifth floor of Victoria General Hospital for their sensitivity and kindness. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway, with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be sent to Canadian Diabetic Society, 102-310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, R3C OS6.
