JACQUES HENRI SYRENNE July 3, 1927 - October 25, 1999 Peacefully with great courage and dignity in the loving arms of his family, Jacques passed away on October 25, 1999. Jacques memory will be cherished by his loving wife Germaine (nee Lachapelle) of 44 years; son Gerry (Simone) and children, Robyn, Bryan and Jordyn; son Robert (Maureen) and Greg; son Ronald (Brenda), children, Kyle and Nicholas; daughter Lori-Ann (Kendall) Kirkwood, children, Kieffer and Montgomery. He is also survived by his two sisters, Teresa Trobec and Alice Bergeron; two brothers, Benoit and Gabriel (Louise) Syrenne; and sister-in-law Annette Syrenne; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first grandson Gabriel; his mother and father, Gertrude and Oscar; brother Jean Noel; brothers-in-law, Emil Trobec and Art Bergeron; sister-in-law Marge Syrenne. Jacques was born on July 3, 1927 and raised in Fannystelle, MB. He ran the family farm until 1978, when he moved to Portage la Prairie, where he was employed by the City of Portage la Prairie for nine years until he retired in 1987. He moved to St. Francois-Xavier in 1985, where he enjoyed puttering in his garden throughout his retirement. Jacques love of the outdoors and sports was obvious to all who knew him, hockey, baseball, fishing and camping. The family is deeply grateful to Dr. Pat Harris and all the Oncology staff, Dr. M. Chernick, Dr. Mulder, and especially the wonderful nursing staff who showed so much care and compassion for Papa in his final weeks. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fannystelle Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jacques to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
