LORIE JANE THOMSEN (nee KOPESCHNY) Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Lorie was received into her heavenly home November 26, 1999 at the Health Sciences Centre at age 34. Lories memory will be cherished by her loving husband Brad, her parents Will and Mary Kopeschny, brothers, Ron and Harold (Donna), Mia, sister Diana (Gil), 4 nieces, 3 nephews, her parents-in-law Rick and Cathy, brother-in-law Dan, Grandma Thomsen and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents. Since her diagnosis of Cancer 12 years ago, Lorie was determined to treasure each day despite many physical problems resulting from Cancer treatment. She had a firm belief in a loving God who helped her through these difficulties. The greatest joys of her life were her dear husband and soul mate Brad, her family, The Meeting Place and her dog Chemo. She also enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening and learning to play to violin. Thank-you to the many doctors and staff who have cared for Lorie. To celebrate her life, a service will be held on November 30 at 1:00 p.m. at The Meeting Place, 139 Smith St. with Pastor Paul Wartman officiating. Interment after the service at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. A time of fellowship and sharing will follow at Douglas Mennonite Church. Viewing November 29, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. and at the church prior to the service. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Health Sciences Centre. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
