Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMINNIE MASYK (BEIGUN) After a ten year courageous, (but silent) battle with cancer, Minnie Masyk passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 1999 at the Vita Hospital. Minnie was born on April 3, 1921 at Sarto, Man. She was predeceased by her husband John in July 1980. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Jim (Mary-Ann) grandchildren, Paula (Jeff), Andrea and Mitch; daughter Joan (Bill) Kosowan; grandchildren, Dean (Nicole) and Jeff. She will also be missed by her sisters, Anne Slotiuk, Margaret (Ken) Dwyer; brother Peter (Dorothy) Beigun and the many nephews, nieces, friends and neighbours. Minnie married John Masyk in 1938. Together they moved to Arbakka, Man., where they raised their children and farmed the land. In 1966 they sold their farm and established residence in Vita, Man. Minnie was a very active and hard working woman. She was employed at the Vita Hospital as an aid, cook and housekeeper. Minnie later worked as a custodian at the Shewchenko Schools, retiring in 1985. She was an energetic volunteer for the Vita Hospital Guild for 40 years. Minnie thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. She found her greatest pleasures and relaxation working in her garden and flower beds. Prayers will be held on Friday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Loewen Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, Man. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Arbakka, Man. FR. M. Skrumeda and FR. M. Pozniak will be officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Smith, the other doctors, the nurses, ambulance drivers and all the staff for the wonderful care she received during her stay at the Vita Hospital. Donation can be made in her memory to the Vita Hospital Guild. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach. 1 (204) 326-1351.
