MIKOLAJ SZUMIK Mikolaj Szumik, age 80 years, beloved husband of Antonina, passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital on Friday, December 3, 1999. Mikolaj will be lovingly remembered by his wife Antonina of 49 years; daughter Olga and daughter Donna; son-in-law Ted and only grandchild Marissa. Mikolaj was born in the Ukraine (Volyn, Kamen Koszirsk). He came to Canada in 1946 as a soldier and lived in Winnipeg until his demise. He was employed by Dominion Motors as an autobody mechanic for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress. Mikolaj enjoyed spending time with his family who always came first. He will be greatly missed and always remembered in our hearts and through our memories. Prayers will be said on Sunday evening, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, Burrows and Sinclair, with Very Rev. Fr. M. Skrumeda officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ted Antoniuk, Steve Antoniuk, Ted Brajczuk, Ed Brajczuk, William Okrusko, Andrew Melnyk and Steve Dowbeta.
