ANGELA MARIE SYROTA Suddenly on March 4, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital, Angela Marie Syrota (Capri) passed away with her family at her side. Angela was born in Winnipeg on September 24, 1922, to the late Antonio and Marie Capri. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in August 1992. Angela is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Colleen and Brian Foley; her granddaughter Leanne Foley; grandson Chris Foley (Angela) and her very special great-granddaughters, Jade Foley and Brianna Marinelli. She is also survived by her daughter Bonnie (Erwin) Weidemann; grandsons, Gary (Cori), Richard (Gloria) and Robert and her granddaughters, Debra (Garry) Rosenthal and Lisa (Darcy) Dubbert and their respective families. She will also be mourned by her sisters Amelia Wildman and Vera Gunn; her brother Ernie (June) and her sister-in-law Edith Capri as well as several nephews, nieces and their families. She was predeceased by her brothers Louie, Victor and John (Una). A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Angela lead a full life. A compassionate person who overcame the hardships in her life with humor. Despite a debilitating stroke and breast cancer, she rallied each time with her love of life and her refusal to give up. She enjoyed visits with family and especially her great-granddaughter Jade whom she always called light of her life. Colleen, Brian and their family would like to take the opportunity to thank the Grace Hospital, I.C.U.s Dr. Joshua and all the wonderful nurses who worked so hard to try and save her and in the end, gave her comfort and dignity. We would also like to thank a very special person, Major Violet Chaulk, of the Salvation Army. Thank you for your kind words and prayers. As well, many thanks to Lawrence, Theresa, Pauline, Patti and Clarissa of Home Care whose help enabled Mom to remain independent for a few more years. Also to her friends and neighbours at McClure Place, your thoughtful gestures never went unnoticed. Lastly we would like to thank her sister Vera for her care and companionship over the last few years and to Ralph and Dana Gunn for always being our back-up. Cremation has taken place at Angelas request. No memorial services will be held and a private family grave-side service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Angelas memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Childrens Hospital Foundation of Manitoba or the Salvation Army.
