HENRYK SZYSZKOWSKI Peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2000, at St. Boniface Hospital, Henryk Szyszkowski, dearly beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at age 86 years, with his family at his side. Henryk is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Michelyna; his sons, Michael (Janis), Richard (Nancy) and Eugene (Susan) grandchildren, David, Brenda, Paul, Linda, Jeff and Jarett Szyszkowski and many friends at Holy Family Nursing Home and numerous other relatives and friends. Henryk was born in Parczew, Poland, on July 23, 1913. Henryk and Michelyna were married in 1934 in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1951. After a brief stay in Nipigon, Ont., they settled in Transcona where they lived until their move to Holy Family Nursing Home. Henryk was a faithful employee of Dominion Lumber until his retirement in 1978. He enjoyed woodworking and kept his family supplied with benches and shelves. The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home. Henryk enjoyed his last two years, thanks to their excellent care. He was well known to the staff, residents and visitors and will be sadly missed by all. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 425 Rosseau Ave. E., Transcona, on Wednesday, April 12, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Lucien Roy presiding. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David, Paul and Brenda Szyszkowski, Eddy Morgielewicz, Peter Kwiatek and Joseph Jarosiewicz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henryks memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2M8.
