Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCIS LORNE GOSMAN A peaceful loving man, Francis Lorne Gosman, passed away quietly, Thursday, June 1, 2000 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his sister Mae McKee (Alex) brothers, Gordon (Hillary) and Victor. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Kathleen; sons, James and Jeffrey; daughter Madeline Noyes; granddaughters, Sara and Aimee; grandson Steve; great-granddaughter Miranda; sister-in-law Helen Oddy; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was born January 18, 1912 in Portage La Prairie, eldest son of James and Coral Gosman. In 1939 he joined the M.M.R.s in Portage and subsequently fought in Holland with the Winnipeg Rifles 1944-45. Upon his return Frank worked for Orlac Mines, Red Lake, then many years for Patricia Transportation. His last employment was at the University of Manitoba where he began his weekly crib nights. Deeply committed to his community, Frank was a member of St. Vital United Church, Three Pillars Masonic Lodge No. 169 A.F.& A.M. and the St. Vital Legion. He gave generously of his time to schools, Norberry Community Club, Meals on Wheels and any other organization or charity needing assistance. Devoted to his family and friends, his favourite times were celebrations and holidays when everyone was together. Special thanks to Dr. E. Hershfield, Susan Manson and all the wonderful caring nurses and orderlies from the Riverview Health Centre. A celebration of life will be held at St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd., on Monday, June 5 at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Peter Douglas officiating. The service will terminate at the church.
