Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE BELL CAMPBELL (CRESWELL / RAMSHAW) On Sunday, June 4, 2000, Irene went to her rest with her family at her side. Irene was in the care of the wonderful staff of Jocelyn House who tended to her wishes and made her last days comfortable. Irene's illness was long but she fought a good fight, never giving up and showing incredible strength and courage. She was so pleased that she was able to celebrate her 85th Birthday on May 14 with family and friends. Irene was predeceased by her parents; her brother Ralph; her first husband John Ramshaw and her second husband Earl Campbell. She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Al Elcombe) and her son Don Ramshaw (Glenda Waugh). She has seven grandchildren who will remember their Grandma fondly, Kelly (Susan) and Kirby Elcombe, Perry (Ivy), and John (Julie) Ramshaw and Kim (Brad) Burki , Ainslie (Sal) Loria and A.J. Waugh. Missing their "Bauma" will be her ten great grandchildren, Cayley and Adam Elcombe, Sara and Nicole Ramshaw, Brooke-Lynne and Alana Ramshaw , Codey, Cashton and Colton Burki, and Reese Loria. Her family meant everything to her and they will remember the many hours she spent knitting many sweaters, afghans, socks and mittens for them. Irene also leaves two sisters, Connie Creswell and Mildred Delisle; as well as many nieces. Thank you to Marilyn for the hours spent walking and talking with Irene. Irene was an avid Sports woman. She golfed for many years at the Wildewood Club. She also curled and was at one time Provincial Seniors Champion. She loved to gamble and spent many leisure hours playing Bingo and in later years the slots. She visited Vegas often travelling with many of her friends. A great Bridge player, she played up until her last months. Thank you to many of her friends from the Wildewood Club and her Ladies Bridge Clubs. They visited her often and sent many lovely cards. This always cheered her. The family would also like to thank the staff of Jocelyn House. They are such a dedicated group of people who give so much of themselves to help those who are dying. It was a great privilege for the family to know them. Irene always had the best care and was very glad to spend her time there. Thank you also to Dr. Salem for looking after Irene earlier in her illness and Dr. Mulder who was there for her at Jocelyn. Thank you to Reverend Bob Brownlie for the comfort he gave Irene. Private interment service to be followed by a memorial service on Thursday, June 8, 4:00 p.m., Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Al Elcombe will give the eulogy, speaking on behalf of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Jocelyn House at 177 Egerton Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7.
