He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Kate Young, daughter-in-law Nina Thomas and eldest grandchild Annette Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Kay; son Keith (Marion) and grandson Darren; three sisters, Eleanor, Margaret and Gertrude; brother Max residing in Newfoundland. Cecil was born in St. Johns, Newfoundland. He proudly served in the 59th Heavy Regiment, Royal Artillery during the Second World War. He married Kay in Britain in April, 1943. After the war, he returned to Newfoundland and worked for A.E. Hickman and Co. until 1973. He retired for the first time in 1973 ad visited Britain for 6 years. He moved to Winnipeg in 1977 to be closer to his family and returned to the workplace in 1980 where he worked for J.R. Richardson, finally retiring in 1986. He was very faithful to his church and rarely missed a Sunday service at St. Marys Anglican Church in St. Johns and later St. Peters Anglican Church in Winnipeg.
