FREDRICA BREMNER (FREDA) McGILLIVRAY Peacefully, on Saturday, October 14, 2000 at the River East Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Man., Fredrica Bremner (Freda) McGillivray aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late William James McGillivray of Carman, Man., (formerly of Altamont, Man.) passed away. Freda leaves to cherish her memory her children; Ivan and wife Sylva McGillivray of Calgary, Alta, Fred and wife Diane McGillivray of Winnipeg and Jim McGillivray; her grandchildren; Rita (Gerry) Van Ginkel, Debbie (Don) Laird, Lorelee (Randy) Cooke, Jim (Terri) McGillivray, Warren McGillivray and Dawn McGillivray (Tom Bailey) her great-grandchildren; Gerard, Rebecca, Jessica, Justin, Logan, Garrett, and Sarah. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Ilene Ford of Winnipeg and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William James McGillivray on June 1, 1976 and by eight brothers and sisters. They farmed in the Altamont area for several years before retiring to Carman in 1975. Freda enjoyed gardening, sewing quilts and crocheting throughout her lifetime, however, her greatest joy was her family. Funeral service will be held at the Altamont Community Centre in Altamont, Man. on Tuesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the New Haven Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at the River East Personal Care Home for the care and kindness extended to Mrs. McGillivray during her stay.
