BLANCHE EMILY TAIT The death of Blanche Emily Tait (nee Rutherford) happened due to a stroke on November 2, 2000 in Kelowna, B.C. Mom was born in 1915 to settlers, Nellie and Edward Rutherford and raised on the farm in Hamiota, Man. She lived in Winnipeg for 30 years where she married Philip Tooth and raised two daughters. Moving to Kelowna, B.C. with her second husband, Jack Tait, Mom enjoyed many , many years in the Kelowna district she loved so much. She worked in the cafeteria at the Kelowna General Hospital. Besides her two daughters, Bonnie Chudo (nee Tooth) of Winnipeg and Alexis Dunstan (nee Tooth) of Lumby, B.C., Mom is survived by grandchildren, Allison Hanuschuk, Barb Chudo and Andy Chudo here in Winnipeg, Nancy Chudo in Invermere, B.C., Chris Dunstan of Kelowna and Kirby Dunstan and wife Stephanie of Ottawa, Ont. Mom was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Emily Hanuschuk, Hayley Dunstan and newborn William Dunstan. Four sisters also survive, Joan, Melanie (Roy) and Edwina, all of Kelowna and Joyce (Tom) of Alsask, Sask. Sister Vera died in 1986 and husband Jack in the early eighties. The last years of her life, living alone, Mom was taken care of so tenderly and thoughtfully by her favourite grandson Chris Dunstan who lived close by. We are all thankful to Chris for his special attendance to Mom. We will all miss Mom, who spent many happy hours talking long distance to us all. Oil painting was a hobby she enjoyed and we have her pictures to treasure. We celebrate Moms long life with memories and ask that no flowers be sent. Mom so dearly loved her many cats and we would appreciate a donation in her name to any animal shelter.
