GUDBJORG THORUN SIGRIDUR THOMSEN Born on August 26, 1914, Gudbjorg Thorun Sigridur Thomsen passed away peacefully on January 6, 2001 at the Deer Lodge Centre. She is predeceased by her parents Lorens and Helga Thomsen; in infancy sister Sigurbjorg Solveig, sister Maria Stoutenberg and her husband Harvey, and sister Gudrun Lilja Borgford and her husband Johann. Thorun leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her memory her nephew Lawrence Borgford and his wife Beverley of Yorkton, Sask. Thorun was born in Winnipeg and made it her home for life. She was an employee of Eatons for over 40 years, an accomplishment that she was proud of. Thorun enjoyed life, her work and travelling. She was proud of her Icelandic heritage and her greatest joy was the return to the homestead in Iceland. Those of us who love her will miss her, but will remember her and her unique wit. As per Thoruns wishes, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
