Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES ALBERT THORNEY Peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Monday, January 15, 2001, with his family by his side, after his courageous brief battle with cancer, at the age of 70. Jim is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline; children, Timothy, Susan and Thomas and wife Wendy; and his adoring grandchildren, Joel, Jena, Jacquelyn and Brianna. Jim will also be sadly missed by his mother Mary; and brothers, John and his wife Julia, Norman and nephews, Bill, Brad and their families. Predeceased by his father William and brother William Jr. Papa will be missed and remembered forever by all who knew him and all who were touched by him. Special thank you to the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at the Markham Stouffville Hospital. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St. N. (Hwy. 48 north of Hwy.7) in the Town of Markham on Friday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m. Afterwards friends and family will gather at the family home at 10 Island Lake Dr., Stouffville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society for Research.
