Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSEVALT (ROSI) JON THOMPSON With sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Rosevalt Thompson, age 70 on Friday, February 2, 2001. Rosevalt was born August 28, 1930 in Gimli MB, where he resided all his life. He was predeceased by his parents Jona Gudrun (1975) and Pjetur Gisli (1956) brothers Cst. Joseph Thor (1961) and Thomas Ingvar (2000). Rosevalt will be lovingly remembered by his sister Thorey (Stan) Cherney, Gimli; brothers Peter (Jean) and Magnus (Margaret) sister-in-law Lorraine of Winnipeg, and his nieces and nephews. Rosevalt was employed at the Military Base in Gimli from 1950-1971. He then worked for the Provincial Government until retirement in 1989. Rosi was very proud of his many years of community involvements, Icelandic Festival Committee, Rotary Club and Equipment Manager for Gimli Wolves. Rosi will be fondly remembered for his hard work and true dedication. Rosi willingly helped others without hesitation, never expecting anything in return. He was a big man with a gentle heart and kind to all he knew. The family wishes to extend thanks to his friends, relative and neighbours who were so kind to him, the Gimli Ambulance, Cst. Pelletier, Dr. S.V. Patel and special thanks to Everett Lloyd and Judy Malinowski. Funeral Service to be held on Friday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church with a viewing half hour prior to service. Pastor George Johnson officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gimli Lutheran Church or Betel Home Foundation, Gimli, R0C 1B0. Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
